While wandering around the heart of Granada, we stumbled upon La Nueva Bodega, a cozy spot that immediately felt like a local treasure. Its tucked-away location just off Plaza Nueva gave it that perfect “hidden gem” energy, and we were drawn in by the lively chatter, warm light, and welcoming staff. According to others, the restaurant “offers excellent value … very generous wine portions” and “very reasonable” pricing. The moment we sat down, we were greeted with friendliness and attentiveness. The “free tapa with a drink” tradition (in our case a hearty pork stew) made us grin—it’s those little touches that turn a meal into a memory. Their homemade fare shone in every dish we tried: fresh, robust, and satisfying. We discovered that regulars love La Nueva Bodega for its “menu del día” deals and generous portions. And, of course, the tinto de Verona became our go-to glass—smooth, bold, and perfect with the tapas. As we sipped wine and shared plates, we watched locals and travelers mingle quietly, the kind of ambiance that feels authentic—not staged for tourists. Yes, most staff spoke limited English, but their smiles, gestures, and eagerness to help made communication effortless and charming. If you’re walking through Granada and craving real Andalusian flavor (without the tourist price tag), La Nueva Bodega should be on your list. It’s ideal for evening tapas, relaxed meals, and for getting a true taste of local life. We’ll absolutely return.

Best Tapas I have enjoyed in Spain so far. We had Tabla Setimerien (plate w cheese, ham, bacon etc) and Berenjenas (eggplant gratin) which tasted really good. Staff friendly and attentive, serving is fast. The drinks comes with a free tapa (we got some brucheta with pork and fries on the side).

Lucia was a lovely and friendly server, she was very attentive and helpful. When we ordered any drink there was a free tapa brought, 3 different options we could choose from, and all delicious. Rich and flavourful meat, with big servings.

Excellent food, great ambience and YES, free Tapas with drinks! The icing on the cake was Ms Lucia, an excellent hostess. We requested only Spanish food, & she recommends the best. DO NOT miss this place. Ask for Ms Lucia

Really lovely waitstaff, food was tasty & selection o the menu was extensive. The value for money is good as well - about 15euro/pp. We both had two courses, wine, shared dessert & an shared entree. For wandering in off the street; the place does look a bit touristy but in this case I certainly don’t think it was a bad thing. Really enjoyed our dinner here :)
